Question 1
//. What are your rates?

The prices vary according to the type and complexity of the artwork you will want. You can chek below a non-exhaustive list of examples. Just keep in mind that these are base prices, which only apply to private commissions. Prices for commercial art will require a specific quote to be discussed.

Question 2.
//. How long do you take to complete the work?

Again, that depends of the complexity of the artwork of course. A traditional sketch or digital single half body can be done within a day or two... while a piece with multiple characters and architecture background will require up to a week or more.

-

Question 3:
//. What kind of commissions do you accept or don't?

  • Will do : OC (original creation), character design, cover art, portraits, banners and PP for social networks, fanarts... Full digital art, Mixed technique (hand sketch + digital color) or Traditional art (pencil sketches + ink & brushes).

  • Will not do : Comic pages, NSFW nor tendentious stuff (homophobic, racist and so on. you get the idea). Oil painting, watercolor or Copic markers (yet).

Note: I may decline a commission if I do not feel comfortable with it for any reason. If that happens, please do not take it wrong nor personnally. I do want my clients to be happy with their commission. As a human artist, sometimes I am dealing with art block. This occured a couple of times in the past, when I struggled with pieces I accepted just to please my client. None of us has any interest in such situation.

-

Question 4
//. Do you take traditional commissions?

I do! But at this moment I only accept pencil sketches with ink and brush! Watercolor and Copic markers should be also available soon too, but not just yet.

-

Question 5
//. What is your process?

Step 01 THE INFO: You need to send me a short description (no more than one or two sentences) with a few details such as:
- The number and kind of characters: human, mecha, other...
- The kind of background: architecture, landscape, painterly colored, white...
- The technique: digital, mixed or traditional
- A few reference images, if needed (no more than 15 pictures)
- Deadline, if any.

Step 02 THE QUOTE: Once I received all the information needed, I will take the time to prepare a quote estimate and will send it to you about 24-48 hours later. Make sure to check your spam box in case my message went there.

Step 03 THE SCHEDULE: Once the quote is agreed and returned signed to me, I will start working following to the schedule I will have provided, according to your deadline and my availability.

From there I will enter the creation process and thus will kindly send a PayPal request in between each creation task completion. I will move to the next task as soon as the payment is well received. During the creation process, only low definition images are shared. The final HD files will be sent after the last payment is received.

Creation Task 01 THE SKETCH: After I am done with researches and references shooting, I will send you a draft, to validate the composition together. I will also ask for your feedback of course, so that I can update the art accordingly at next task.

Creation Task 02 THE CLEANING: I will send you the revised, cleaned and detailed artwork. You will be able to send new feedbacks and I will move on to the next task.

Creation Task 03 THE FLAT COLORS: Again, sending you the new update and waiting for your feedbacks before I move on to the last task.

Creation Task 04 THE RENDERING: I will send you the polished and final looking artwork. Minor edits are still feasible if needed, but usually the piece is considered at this point.

The Final Files ☆ Once the last payment is received, I will prepare you a Google Drive folder where I will upload the files. By default, my painting canvas is 4440x5550px at 300dpi, which is perfect to print up to 16.5 x 23.4 inches. I provide a high definition .PNG file along with the low definition progress pictures. A layered PSD file can be sent on demand too if needed. Specific measures can also be requested up to your needs at the quote estimate step!

·

Note that is process can slightly vary depending on the artwork, but I will always split the payment in three or four requests, following the creation steps and validations.

Question 6
//. Do you use AI?

Nope! My art is 100% created by me from scratch, to sketch, to final. You can watch most of my painting process at my YouTube channel :)

-

Question 7
//. What software and tools do you use?

  • Regarding my digital art: I'm sketching and painting exclusively on Procreate since 2020. Love how simple and efficient the app is, and how convenient the auto recording timelapse is to share my process!

  • About my traditional art: I'm currently using bristol paper, graphite pencil, Derwent colour pencils, Pigma Micron and Staedtler Fineliners and Faber-Castell pen brushes.

-

Question 8
//. Can I request a signed physical copy of a digital commission?

Yes! In that case, the printing, shipping and handling prices will be calculated according to your needs and added to the quote. For your information, the shipping costs are usually about 35USD for worldwide, 20-25USD for Europe.

-

Question 9
//. Can I sell your art once I paid for it?

No, as explained in question 1, commercial purposes will require a very specific quote. You are free to share the art on your socials (with the provided 72dpi low resolution file), but not allowed to feed AI tools with it, nor to sell it in any way.

-

Question 10.
//. Do you use the work after it is completed?

No, I will only share the illustration on my socials (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, Threads, TikTok, YouTube...), and only at a 72 dpi low definition.

It is very important for me - as an independant artist - to share the artworks I create. Yet of course, if you do not want me to share the artwork, for any reason, just drop me a note about it at the quote estimate, and I will respect your wish.

In any case, I will never ever use your commission for commercial purposes (such as prints and merchandise). If I happened to be willing to use it for such purposes, I would kindly ask for your written permission before anything.
